This off-season was something special, to say the least. I had the chance to spend time with my friends and family (especially my 1 year-old daughter Zuri).
Check her out.
I also got to travel, which is one of my favorite things to do. I was able to visit places like Santa Barbara, Las Vegas (twice), the Dominican Republic and Ohio. What about you guys?
In addition, I took—what’s becoming—my annual trip to Lexington, Kentucky. For the last four years, my foundation (The Mack Foundation) has hosted a weekend event where I’m able to bring NBA players to Lexington to connect with the youth and fans. It’s pretty cool. This year I partnered with the Lexington Legends (a minor league baseball team) for “Back with Mack,” a backpack giveaway. We were able to give donate 300 backpacks with school supplies to the community.
And I can’t forget about the Bahamas, another great trip that’s becoming routine. I’ve been going there over the last few summers as part of The Jeff Rodgers Basketball Camp, where I’m able to connect with people less fortunate than me. Not only do we host a camp, but also play in a celebrity basketball game. It’s all a fun time and I’m just grateful to be in a position to give back. Getting here wasn’t easy, but as you can see it’s not impossible.

Currently, I reside in Atlanta, GA—one of my favorite places in the world. I guess you could say it’s my off-season spot. For me, this is the place where I’m able to get the workouts I need in order to stay in the best shape possible (big ups to The Skill Factory for getting me right).
I also get a chance to be connected to one of the things I love which is Hip-Hip/R&B music and speaking of, here are a few of the shows and tours I was able to attend, each of which was equally amazing.
- Hot 107.9’s Birthday Bash
- Future and Drake’s Summer Sixteen Tour
- The Weeknd’s The Madness Fall Tour
- Kanye West’s Saint Pablo Tour
All in all, I’m super excited for the season, which begins Tuesday (Sept. 27) and blessed to have had another impactful and adventurous summer. But it’s time to get back to work! I’m looking forward to you guys following me on this journey and appreciate all your love and support. ‘Til next time, but in the meantime… #ThinkPositive
